Functionality
- Charger is Level 2 (240V) only (no Level 1)
- Has capability of current derating for electrical service capacity
- Load sharing between multiple chargers
- App has scheduled charging (e.g. for TOU rates)
- App shows live status, session, and lifetime stats
Load Sharing: If you want multiple chargers but have limited capacity in your electrical service, you can set a maximum total power across all chargers. E.g. if one charger isn't charging, that capacity is available for the other chargers.
Offline use: If internet connection is lost, the charger will allow 20 consecutive offline sessions (resets if charger is connected). The charger does technically store the offline sessions and syncs them upon reconnection, so could still earn rewards, but they don't guarantee that in case the data is lost.
Terms of note:
Deposit refunded after 1500 kWh and Terms fulfilled. The accumulated $45 in rewards is also added to your balance. (the initial $0.03/kWh doesn't show until then)
License to use DashSharing charger. Title remains with Dashsharing while on the program.
If participation in the program is terminated:
- Before 1500 kWh: The charger must be returned. (unreturned chargers incur replacement fee)
- After 1500 kWh: You can keep the charger - A $50 buyout fee permanently transfers full ownership.
Must be your primary charging device, and remain continuously connected to a Wi-Fi network (limited offline charging).
Must be installed installed in compliance with all relevant safety standards and electrical codes (not necessarily requiring an Electrician, although I'll add that using an Electrician is recommended)
Promotions
- additional $50 off deposit with code EVCHARGINGCANADA
Author note: From my experience and from any comments I've seen so far, DashSharing support has been excellent, including active in answering questions/comments on Reddit.
