Tesla Reward Concerns

It is recommended to NOT obtain the Tesla Wall Connector solely for the purpose of earning rewards. The reason being, there are no agreements between Tesla and the reward programs regarding the exclusive use of the charging data and claiming carbon credits. As such, there could be conflicts, and there’s a risk that the credits aren’t successful and nobody gets the rewards for those particular chargers.

• Tesla could try to claim the credits for themselves.
• Multiple reward programs could try to claim the credits if given access to the data.

These scenarios could mean more than one credit creator claiming the same charging sessions - which is double counting, and big "no-no" in credit validation.

This issue applies to all reward programs that use Tesla charging data. None are "guaranteed", even if some are more up front about it than others.

Saying that, if you already have a Tesla Wall Connector, or want a Wall Connector for other reasons, this is still an option to potentially get rewards. Just be aware of the risk.
