No particular minimum requirement (GreenMiles are redeemed in $100 increments though).

Chargers

Pion Power Flex-AC or Flex-AC Elite charger required. (Flex-AC LE does not qualify)

Flex-AC has been discontinued, but if you already have it or can buy it second-hand, it works for GreenMiles. Came in 32A and 40A options. 

Flex-AC Elite is the new generation with Bluetooth (works better for setup). Comes in 32A and 40A, J1772 and now NACS options. 

  • Plug-in with 5-15P (120V, level 1) and 14-50P (240V, level 2) adapters. (no hardwired)

Typically go on sale, with the last (Labour Day) sale being:

  • $299.99 for Flex AC Elite 32A
  • $349.99 for Flex AC Elite 40A (J1772 or NACS pre-order)

Functionality

  • Level 1 and Level 2 capable, and both earn GreenMiles
  • App has scheduled charging and can adjust the current
  • No physical switches to derate for Electrical Code purposes

Terms of note:

1 GreenMile per kWh. When 1,000 GreenMiles is reached, it is converted into $100 in redeemable rewards, which can be redeemed early for store credit or in March by cheque.

The top-up tiers are cumulative - E.g. if someone reaches 8000 points, they receive the rewards from all (4) tiers, not just the highest.
